Overview

 Position Summary: 

This position consults and collaborates with clients on wastewater plant operations including operations of biogas facilities.  This position is primarily focused on two areas – 1) studies of existing wastewater treatment facilities and recommendations for improvements in operations, including staffing requirements, and 2) operation of small wastewater treatment plants and biogas upgrading facilities.  This position is primarily focused externally and assists internal teams with recommended solutions and clear client expectations.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Consults with clients to identify needs and develops recommended and alternative solutions to meet those client needs.
  • Conducts in-depth studies of existing operations.
  • Recommends changes, additions and refinements for ongoing operations.
  • Develops staffing requirements for small plant and/or biogas cleaning operations.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Broad knowledge of wastewater treatment and operations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills adapting to the right level of complexity or simplicity based on the audience
  • Knowledge of contract and project management best practices with accountability in scope, schedule, and financial (budget) performance
  • Strong staff management skills, including operating in a union environment.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, math or related area preferred.  Experience in wastewater operations can be substituted for degree.

 

 

Experience:

20+ years of related experience in wastewater operations and staff relations with increasing levels of responsibilities required.

 

 

Travel Expectations:
Must be able to travel in-state and out-of-state on occasion, which usually would consist of visiting the outlying locations, attending seminars or business meetings.  Minimum travel is 10% of the time depending on projects.
