POSITION SUMMARY: This position will coordinate construction projects from preconstruction design through construction closeout and warranty, ensuring that projects are safely completed to meet quality expectations, and within schedule and budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of the construction process, including hiring contractors and working with owners, engineers, architects and vendors.
  • Develop comprehensive scopes of work and negotiate contracts.
  • Assemble comprehensive project estimates.
  • Produce project schedules and updates suited to accomplish contract requirements.
  • Secure building permits and licenses.
  • Work with procurement resources to solicit, bid, analyze and award equipment and installation service contracts.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment to support construction activities.
  • Supply reliable and comprehensive project reports to the project team advising critical activities, schedule updates, submittal/RFI/ASI status, and related project needs.
  • Supply reliable and comprehensive project reports to Bartlett & West supervisors monitoring construction progress, reviewing costs & budgets, considering quality concerns, and ensuring jobsite safety considerations are addressed.
  • Enforce subcontractor performance to comply with contract requirements.
  • Actively manage conflicts with stakeholders.
  • Maintain current tracking logs for subcontractor change order requests. Negotiate appropriate & timely agreements to change order request, and complete change order contract documents.
  • Perform duties/responsibilities of Construction Superintendent position when necessary to meet project needs.

  • Ability to lead, manage, train, and mentor others
  • Proficiency in MS Office and technical software with ability to learn CPM and Procore software programs
  • Ability to pass safety classes and exhibit safety oriented mentality
  • Self-Motivated and ability to work independently
  • Good technical writing skills including ability to use appropriate grammar and proof read
  • Willing to train and pass all certification exams required of clients
  • Effective human relations skills to build consensus, resolve conflict and confront/address design compliance issues with contractors
  • Ability to embrace new technology and processes

Education: 
Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field, such as Construction Science, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or Civil Engineering required.

 

Experience:

10+ years of experience in construction project management required.  Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel required.  Experience using Procore project management software preferred.

                                   

Travel Expectations:

Willingness to travel for short-term or long-term project specific responsibilities.  This position requires overnight travel 25% of the time.  Employee-owner travels in company vehicle, personal vehicle, or by air travel.  Must also be able to travel in-state and out-of-state, which usually would consist of visiting other company locations, project sites, attending seminars or business meetings.
